GBNN

Intuit Partnership

News

In 2025, GBNN partnered with Intuit, the maker of QuickBooks, to offer energy-efficiency and electrification grants of up to $1,000 to 88 businesses across 4 states: Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and Illinois. 12 business sectors were represented, with many breweries, non-profit organizations, dry cleaners, and small-scale manufacturing plants benefiting from the grant funding. Applicants were provided with technical assistance to identify ideal projects and, where applicable, connected with local utilities to stack funding opportunities to lower project costs.

Projects ranged from standard energy-efficiency measures, such as LED lighting upgrades, HVAC maintenance, and appliance upgrades, to more unique projects, such as purchasing a drone, an electric bike, and using electric landscaping equipment.

One Illinois business, Half Acre Beer Co., is a regional brewery that distributes beer to 12 states. For their 2025 Intuit Green Business Grant, Half Acre Beer Co. installed insulation on their steam pipes. By doing so, they reduce heat transfer into their space, maintain steam temperatures for brewing processes, and enhance energy efficiency. Through this grant opportunity, the business will save $2,100 a year, reduce 12 metric tons of CO2 emissions, and have a project payback period of only 3.2 years.
